Juniper Bistro Banff National Park: A Canadian Cuisine Experience

First off, we are so excited to share with you our recent dining experience at the Juniper Bistro in Banff National Park.

First things first, let us tell you that the Juniper Bistro is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who’s looking for a unique dining experience in Banff, Alberta. Located on the side of Mount Norquay, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of Banff National Park’s majestic mountains and lush forests.

The view alone is worth the trip, but the food and atmosphere are equally impressive.

Now, let’s talk about the food. The Juniper Bistro’s menu is inspired by Canadian cuisine, with a focus on using local and seasonal ingredients. The dishes are beautifully presented and bursting with flavours that will tantalize your taste buds.

One of the standout dishes we tried was the Bison Carpaccio, which was thinly sliced bison tenderloin served with arugula, pickled onion, parmesan, and truffle oil.

The dish was not only visually stunning but also incredibly flavourful. The bison was perfectly cooked, and the combination of arugula and truffle oil added a unique and delicious twist.

Another dish that we highly recommend is the Seared Scallops. The scallops were cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy middle. The dish was served with smoked paprika, chorizo, and a butternut squash puree, which added a subtle sweetness and smokiness that complemented the scallops beautifully.

The Juniper Bistro also offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Beetroot Tartare and the Roasted Cauliflower. The Beetroot Tartare was a surprising delight, with the beets resembling the texture of raw meat and served with pickled mustard seeds, capers, and a horseradish emulsion. The Roasted Cauliflower was equally impressive, with perfectly roasted cauliflower florets served with a creamy tahini sauce, pomegranate seeds, and roasted hazelnuts.

The desserts at Juniper Bistro were also worth mentioning. We had the pleasure of trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. The pudding was moist and rich, and the combination of the warm pudding and cold ice cream was the perfect end to the meal.

Aside from the food, the atmosphere at the Juniper Bistro is cozy and inviting. The restaurant’s rustic interior design, featuring wooden beams and stone walls, creates a warm and welcoming ambiance. The large windows offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, and the outdoor patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

The service at the Juniper Bistro was also exceptional. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making sure that every guest’s dining experience was top-notch. They were also accommodating to special requests and dietary restrictions, which was much appreciated.

Overall, the Juniper Bistro is a restaurant that we highly recommend for anyone visiting Banff National Park. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the views are simply breathtaking. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience that perfectly captures the beauty and flavours of Canadian cuisine.

So friends, if you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in Banff National Park, the Juniper Bistro is the place to be.

Happy Eatings =)
